Yangon is the main gateway to Myanmar by air and sea. Ever green and cool with lush tropical trees, shady parks with beautiful lakes, know as Garden city of East. The pride of Yangon is the world famous Shwedagon Pagoda, the landmark of Myanmar. The golden dome rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 11 tons of pure gold. The present day Yangon covers over 350 sq.km with 6 million population.Almost all International Airlines serving Myanmar fly to Yangon International Airport. So one-night stay in Yangon is recommended before visiting up-country and one night at the end of the trip. And full or half a day of Yangon city sightseeing is advised- the highlight being, of course, the Shwedagon Pagoda, Chauk Htat Gyi reclining Buddha, Sule Pagoda, Botahtaung Pagoda and shopping trip to Boyoke (Scott) Market which is closed on Gazetted Holidays and every monday.

16:30 pm >> Visit to Royal Palace (Karaweik) & Kandawgyi Lake for sunset view with glory of famous Shwedagon Pagoda from the Park.

17:00 pm >> End of Tour & back to Hotel, Yangon. Transfer back to Hotel.

Shwe Dagon Pagoda

The largest and most important pagoda in Myanmar is the Shwe Dagon Pagoda. It rises almost 100 meters above the green cityscape of Yangon.

Gabar Aye Pagoda

This is a new pagoda constructed in 1952,and was built for the sixth Buddhist synod,held from 1954 to 1956.The name means 'world peace' in English,and is known as the 'World Peace Pagoda'.

Myanma Gems Museum and Gems Mart

Myanma Gems Museum is located on Kaba Aye Pagoda Road, close to the Kaba Aye Pagoda. It displays very famous precious stone of Myanmar such as rubies, jades, sapphires and pearls. It is also houses the Gems Mart and sells raw gemstones, polished and various kinds of jewel. Other interesting museums in Yangon are Natural History Museum, Bogyoke Aung San Museum,Defence Services Museum.

National Museum

The National Museum is located on Pyi Road, and it has five of exhibits. The 8m-high lion Throne of King Thibaw Min, the last Myanmar King, the Royal Regalia of 19th century, the artifacts of various ancient periods, manuscripts, traditional dresses of various ethnic groups, traditional musical instruments, paintings, ect are displayed in the museum.

Bogyoke Market

Formerly known as Scott Market, this is the most famous local market in Yangon. The large colonial building was built in 1926.There are 1641 shops in the market and almost anything you can imagine is on sale.

Karawait Palace & Kandawgyi Lake

This large lake is just north of downtown and around it is a park and recreation area. The lake is best known for the Karaweik, a huge concrete replica of a royal Burmese Barge.
